I'm sure everyone's been in a situation regarding and ex boyfriend/girlfriend, and their new significant other. A friend of mine is not exception - Her and her boyfriend had been dating for over two years. They weren't particularly close, especially in the closing months the two of them seemed to adopt a "why bother leaving" attitude in their relationship. Needless to say, it went down hill and the two of them broke up about two weeks ago. It was mutual, and it was not met with too much drama or tears. It seemed as if both of them had been ready to go their separate ways for some time, it was just a matter of closing.
Two and a half weeks after the breakup, the above mentioned boyfriend started dating one of my other close friends, S. The ex girlfriend was not pleased, and started playing the cliche, "I don't want him, but I don't want anyone else to have him" game.
Here's the twist: The ex girlfriend though told everyone she was looking to set her ex boyfriend up with someone, and even pushed her ex boyfriend into asking S out. Now, however, she's changed her song and is upset.
Some day I might have felt a little sorry for her - Two weeks is hardly enough time to get over such a long relationship and for one of her friends, no less. Yet with the current state of things, I'm having a really hard time feeling sympathetic. She wanted her ex boyfriend happy and with another girl and now when he has one, she's changing her tune completely and getting angry and upset about it. Quite frankly, her actions are making me frustrated. I feel obligated to listen to her mope and complain all day over a situation she put herself into, and I'm finding it difficult not to get frustrated with her.
